My mother always greeted her neighbor, who refused to respond.
“Why do you keep doing it”, I asked; “don’t you see he doesn’t care?”
“I am not doing it for his response”; she replied,
“I am doing it because its the right, the kind thing to do.”
I thought she was being foolish; now however, I understand.
The intervening years have taught me well.
Being a fool, doing what is right and kind,
issues from a place where wisdom, born of God resides.
Now I relish the wisdom in being foolish.
Oh the lessons learned from our wise parents
